Square Enix is on a quest to let 2B from NieR: Automata appear in every game in existence, and a new crossover in Goddess of Victory: Nikke is the next step.
The crossover, which has just been announced, will start with a dedicated event that will come with an update on September 1.
This is likely the crossover that was teased back in April by developer Shift Up.
The collaboration will feature three playable characters, 2B, A2, and Pascal. While he's been pretty popular in collaborations, looks like 9S won't be included this time around, at least not as a playable character.
There will also be dedicated storylines and in-game events.
You can check out the trailer below alongside the official artwork.
If you're unfamiliar with Goddess of Victory: Nikke, it's currently available for PC, iOS, and Android. It's free-to-play with optional microtransactions and it has become quite popular since its mobile release worldwide back in November 2022.
If you're unfamiliar with the developer Shift Up, it’s the studio that created the popular mobile game Destiny Child and its CEO is famous South Korean artist Hyung-tae Kim. You may be familiar with gorgeous character design work in the Magna Carta series and in Blade & Souls.
Currently, the studio is also working on a PS5 action game, originally codenamed Project EVE and recently renamed Stellar Blade.
NieR: Automata is available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Back in April, we heard that it has sold 7.5 million copies worldwide across all platforms, so it's unsurprising that its characters are appearing everywhere. Its many crossovers (including the latest in Naraka: Bladepoint) are becoming basically a meme.
While we don't have any real information for now, its developers seem rather confident that another NieR game will be coming at some point.
