Today Colossal Order and Paradox Entertainment released another extensive video about the upcoming city builder Cities: Skylines 2.

Following up on the trailer about music and audio released earlier this week, we hear from sound designers Annu Syrén as she explains how the audio of the game was created and where she drew inspiration from it.

Apparently, a lot of that inspiration comes from the Finnish city of Tampere, and we hear how Syrén turned what she experienced in real life into what we'll hear in the game, from trams to the sound of traffic.

Another interesting element is thunder, which will be heard realistically with a short lag after we see lightning in the sky.

You can check out the video below and try to imagine how your first city will sound. The release of the game isn't so far, so it's time to start planning.

Cities: Skylines 2 will release for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 on October 24, 2023. It'll also be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

If you'd like to take a look at more gameplay and details, you can enjoy original announcement and at a trailer revealed at the Xbox Game Showcase in June.

We also have plenty more specific trailers about roads and trafficcargo transportationzoningcity servicesclimatethe economy, city progression, and citizen simulation. There certainly are a lot of interesting aspects to the new city builder by Colossal Order.
