Our guide will show you the full Hydroneer Map and Volcalidus Map along with details on all of the Dig Sites, Towns, and shops that you can visit.

There are a lot of interesting places to visit in Hydroneer. Once you've fueled up your Truck, you can find a bunch of great places to Fish or build a House. Read on to learn about the locations in the Bastion and Volcalidus regions!

Hydroneer Map | Bastion Region

A map of the first region in Hydroneer

The Hydroneer Map shows you the locations of all of the Dig Sites and Towns at a glance. There is a total of 6 Dig Sites and roughly 7 Towns (some of which are spread quite far apart) in the Bastion region.

Take care to note that this Map doesn't give you the best idea of elevation; some areas are much higher than you might expect, and some of the Dig Sites and shops are actually underground!

Hydroneer Dig Sites | Bastion Region

Here are all of the Dig Sites you can find on the Hydroneer Map, what they cost, and what challenges you can expect to find once you start working the land.

Dreck Quarry

The Dreck Quarry Dig Site viewed from above in Hydroneer

Cost: C 1,200

Dreck Quarry is a massive Dig Site that can be purchased fairly cheaply. Unfortunately, that low price comes with a challenge — the only viable source of water is a small pond on the opposite side of the road.

Ember Cradle

The Ember Cradle Dig Site in Hydroneer

Cost: Free

Ember Cradle is the first place you'll be able to dig. It has the following items available:

  • Brush
  • Bucket
  • Dull Shovel
  • Lantern
  • Pan
  • Wooden Cart

Although it features a relatively small plot of land, Ember Cradle has a massive river running through the center of the Dig Site. This makes it an ideal place to learn about the mechanics of Automation without too many problems.

Icehelm / The Bastion Forge

The underground Icehelm Dig Site in Hydroneer

Cost: C 7,200

Icehelm boasts the unique distinction of being the only truly underground Dig Site on the Hydroneer Map; you have to take an elevator from the road to an underground area to access it. It also has an underground shop where you can purchase the best Automation equipment and several other useful items.

This Dig Site has many unique engineering challenges to overcome, most notably the requirement to dig horizontally instead of down. You should not attempt to exploit the resources in this Dig Site until you've mastered Automation.

Finally, you cannot take easily Vehicles into Icehelm; instead, you'll need to use the provided conveyor system to load items onto (or off of) Vehicles on the surface.

Mildew's Aquifer

The Mildew's Aquifer Dig Site viewed from above in Hydroneer

Cost: C 970

Mildew's Aquifer is a large Dig Site that can be purchased at a bargain price, but it comes with a challenge — all of the water sources are underground. This means that you'll need to dig up the ground by hand (or by using expensive Vehicles) before you can access the water you need to get Automation up and running.

Snowrune Falls

The Snowrune Falls Dig Site viewed from above in Hydroneer

Cost: C 7,000

Snowrune Falls is a massive Dig Site on top of a mountain. You'll have plenty of room to build, but it's somewhat out of the way compared to the other Dig Sites.

South Hope

The South Hope Dig Site in Hydroneer viewed from the air

Cost: C 6,600

South Hope is a Dig Site that boasts a fairly large amount of real estate. Critically, it is the Dig Site that is nearest the town of Bridgepour, making it easy to travel back and forth making the purchases you need.

Hydroneer Towns and Shops | Bastion Region

Here is a list of all of the Towns you can visit in Hydroneer along with details on which shops you can find in each of these locations.

Bastion Keep

The Town of Bastion Keep viewed from above in Hydroneer

Bastion Keep has a Grocer, Jeweller, and Stock Market. It's a good place to sell the first items that you craft. It also has a number of NPCs who will give you quests.

Bridgepour

Bridgepour Town viewed from the air in Hydroneer

Bridgepour is the largest town that can be found on the Hydroneer Map — it has nearly anything that you could possibly want to purchase. Its central location makes it easy to access, though you'll probably want to use a Truck to move supplies and purchases back and forth.

You can find Tools & Equipment, multiple shops to buy pieces for your House, Automation parts, and every conceivable Vehicle that you could want to drive. You can also find the path to the new Volcalidus region here.

Burnscroft

The Town of Burnscroft viewed from above in Hydroneer

Burnscroft is the place to go if you like fishing. You can upgrade your Fishing Rod here and buy most of the Fishing supplies you'd need. You can also find a Stock Market for Fish and a Grocer here.

Ember Cradle Shops

The Ember Cradle dig site has a number of shops right across the road including a Tools & Equipment shop and a Used Machine shop.

Grangefield

Grangefield is home to the Farming Guild. It has shops that will get you started with Farming, and it also has shops where you can spend Farming Guild tokens to buy new seeds, Greenhouse building pieces, and more.

Icehelm Shops

The Icehelm Dig Site has a special underground shop where you can purchase designs for Drills, Harvesters, and Intake Boosters, in addition to a variety of mining equipment. It also has the Anvil where you can forge these machines as long as you have the proper resources.

Directly opposite of the Icehelm elevator is a shop that sells stone building pieces and a Stock Market that purchases gems.

Ironil Shops

Ironil has a Stock Market that purchases Swords, Axes, and Daggers. East of Ironil is a Stock Market that purchases Gold Bars.

Hydroneer Volcalidus Map

A Map of the Volcalidus region in Hydroneer

The Volcalidus region is much larger than the default Bastion Region in Hydroneer — you're going to be doing a lot of traveling if you want to explore the area. Fortunately, you're provided with a fully-fueled Lava Truck right from the get-go.

Some areas of Volcalidus will be difficult to access at first. However, the areas that you can explore are pretty interesting — and they provide ample opportunity for making a profit.

Hydroneer Volcalidus Dig Sites

Here are all of the Dig Sites that you can find in the Volcalidus region of Hydroneer.

Cinder Footing

Cinder Footing Dig Site viewed from above in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC

Cost: C 5,000

Cinder Footing is a medium-sized Dig Site near the Forge in the Volcalidus Region. It has a decent amount of Lava available nearby.

Dawn Rest

The Dawn Rest Dig Site in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC

Cost: Free

Dawn Rest is the first Dig Site you'll be able to access in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC. As with Ember Cradle in the Bastion Region, you'll find a few free tools provided for you at no cost and an in-game Map of the region.

Though it has some Lava available, there appears to be no readily available Water in Dawn Rest. You'll need to buy specialized machinery to get Water in Lumberton Harbour.

Lumberton Bluff

The Lumberton Bluff Dig Site viewed from above in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC

Cost: C 5,000

Lumberton Bluff is a decently-sized plot of land at the top of some cliffs. It's surrounded by a river of Lava, but there is no easy access to Water as far as I can tell; make sure to buy the equipment you need to make it if you want to start using Automation.

Scoria Chamber

The Scoria Chamber Dig Site in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC

Cost: C 5,000

Scoria Chamber is a Dig Site placed far to the west of the Volcalidus Map. All of the Lava on this site is underground, so you'll have to dig underground to reach it.

Shattered Breach

The Shattered Breach Dig Site in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC

Cost: C 5,000

Shattered Breach is a small Dig Site that is conveniently located right next to Shattered Outpost. It's a good place to set up if you don't like traveling between town and Dig Sites too much.

Waterside

The Waterside Dig Site seen from above in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC

Cost: C 5,000

As the name implies, the Waterside Dig Site is located right next to potable Water. It also has access to Lava nearby.

Hydroneer Volcalidus Towns and Shops

Here are all of the Towns and shops that you can find in the Volcalidus region of Hydroneer.

Burville

The Town of Burville seen from above in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC

Burville is a small town in the western area of Volcalidus where the Scout's Guild has a presence. Aside from some basic items, you can also purchase igloo Building pieces with Scout Guild Tokens. You can also purchase an exorbitantly expensive model of Vocalidus for T 99,999.

The Barrens Harbour

The Barrens Harbour Shrouded in Fog in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC

The Barrens Harbour has nothing of note save for a ship that takes you to Mot's Island. Unfortunately, you'll need a Ticket to ride on this boat, and that means you'll have to build the Ticket Office.

The Volcalidus Forge

The Forge in Volcalidus viewed from above in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC

The Forge in Volcalidus is essentially the exact opposite of the Forge in Bastion — it sits atop the massive volcano in the center of the map. This is where you'll make the critical machinery for Automation such as Drills, but you'll need to build the shops in New Glade to buy the necessary Blueprints first.

You can reach the Forge by taking the mountain road from Dawn Rest. An elevator at the top of the road can lift a Truck up to the top of the volcano if needed.

Lumberton Harbour

The Town of Lumberton Harbour viewed from above in Hydroneer

Lumberton Harbour is where you'll begin your adventures in the Volcalidus DLC. It has a Jeweller and a small Tools & Equipment shop to help you get started in this new land — once you have the Hydrocoins to pay for supplies, that is.

The Prince's ship is docked here; visit it, and one of his soldiers will start you on a quest chain to deliver supplies all around the region. You'll find a free, fully-fueled Lava Truck parked just past the Prince's ship.

Mot's Island

The Town of Mot's Island seen from afar in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC

Mot's Island is an isolated Town that can apparently be accessed by the ship in The Barrens Harbour. Unfortunately, you'll need to get Tickets to ride the boat to there, and that requires building the Ticket Office.

New Glade

The town of New Glade viewed from inside the bubble shield in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC

New Glade is the largest town in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC, but it comes with a catch — this bustling burg is still under construction. It will be up to you to build the missing shops if you want to get your hands on all of the equipment you'll need.

There are, of course, still a handful of places available right from the start. You'll find three Stock Markets that buy Iron Bars, Gems, and Jewelry, respectively. There's also a small shop that sells some basic equipment and a Museum where you can deliver Hydrosaur Bones.

Shattered Outpost

The Town of Shattered Outpost in Hydroneer's Volcalidus DLC

Shattered Outpost is an out-of-the-way Town that has a Logic Machines shop, a Stock Market for Gold Bars, a shop with pieces for your House, a Tools and Equipment shop, and several other items of interest.
