Keen Games has released the first major Enshrouded update, and it's bringing "daunting" new dungeons that offer fresh challenges and rewards, plus lots more.
While Enshrouded has received a couple of big patches since its release, this update represents the first major content drop for the game, and as such, a number of features included in the game's roadmap are making their debut here.
The first major new feature is the Hollow Halls, a new area that appears in each biome and offers players the chance to delve into a dungeon with "enemies and challenges corresponding to the level of the biome".
A range of new quests are available to acclimatize you to the new content, and you'll also find a new survivor in the Hollow Halls, as well as new enemies and more.
Keen Games recommends that you prepare as well as you can for the Hollow Halls, though; these dungeons are no walk in the park, so your best food items and an ample supply of campfires are essential.
You can technically tackle the Hollow Halls on your own, but Keen Games says that bringing friends or strangers along is a better idea, so it sounds like the content is tuned more for multiplayer than single-player.
It's not just the Hollow Halls, of course. There are lots of other features being added to Enshrouded as part of this new update.
Potted plants are now available for a little extra base decoration, and lo and behold, you can now sit on furniture, so your character no longer has to look like they've always got somewhere else to be.
Other small improvements include remapping jumping and gliding keys separately, a fix for those playing on displays with refresh rates higher than 60hz, and a rework for the town of Willow Crush.
