Level Infinite and Hotta Studio released a new trailer showcasing the next Simulacrum that will come via gacha in its anime-style MMORPG Tower of Fantasy.
The trailer reveals Icarus alongside his weapon named Precious One. We get to see his gameplay and take a glimpse at his backstory. Icarus and is an ice-type simulacrum dedicated to dealing damage and he will be released on April 13 as the second simulacrum part of the cycle of the recently-released update numbered 2.4 and titled "Under the Grand Sea."
Incidentally, his Japanese voice actor is Gakuto Kajiwara, whom you may know as Asta in Black Clover and all the related video games, the hero in Monark, and will soon appear as the protagonist Nini in Loop8: Summer of Gods.
You watch the trailer in English below and on top of the Japanese version if you prefer to hear Kajiwara-san's voice.
If you're unfamiliar with the concept of Simulacrums, they are unlockable characters that players can swap to, changing to their fighting style, weapons, and abilities. They're the foundation of the game's gacha system.
Tower of Fantasy is free-to-play with optional microtransactions and currently available for PC, iOS, and Android, including a recently-released Steam version. Its developers have been rather consistent in updating it with new content since its release, and recently we saw the addition of many simulacrum like Annabella, Alyss, Alyss, Umi, Fenrir, and Lan to the growing roster.
If you're interested in the game, it's a sci-fi MMORPG set on the far-away planet Aida, devastated by a cataclysm that destroyed most of the colony established by mankind centuries before. The players have to survive in this hostile environment among the ruins of civilization against increasingly aggressive and mutated monsters, while exploring a mysterious story full of intrigue and adventure.
Recently, we also heard that Tower of Fantasy is getting mobile ray tracing support.
