Developer Hotta Studio and publisher Level Infinite have revealed details for Tower of Fantasy update 3.6, and it sounds like a pretty substantial one.
Arriving on January 30th, the update will follow on from 3.5, which added new simulacra and brought seasonal events to enjoy.
This time around, you'll get to explore Aquaville, a brand new map that represents "the beginnings of humanity and pre-timestamp technology in Domain 9", according to Level Infinite.
Aquaville has fallen into disrepair, but you'll visit it while it's being restored to its former glory thanks to innovations like the Gravity Rail and the Distant Beacon Cabin.
You'll explore "dangerous industrial zones" and "mysterious ruins" and battle new foes like the combat droid Ying Zhao and the beautiful native creature Fei Lian.
Of course, new story content is also incoming; a battle with the Hive Mother approaches, marking "the end of the old world and the dawn of the new", as Level Infinite tells it.
A new gameplay style is also being added in the form of the Thawing Talisman, which you can use to charge "dark tokens using Aquaville Bright Crystals", leading to puzzle-solving opportunities throughout Aquaville.
Tower of Fantasy is an open-world gacha RPG in which you can take on adventures either by yourself or alongside other players.
If you've played Genshin Impact (which is also still receiving regular updates), you'll likely know the score; Tower of Fantasy is all about building teams of diverse characters and emphasizing combat synergies to create a unique fighting style.
Since launch, Tower of Fantasy has received a number of new simulacra, including the young warrior Huang, the ruthless flautist Nan Yin, and the blade-wielding Ming Jing.
You can play Tower of Fantasy right now for free on PC, PlayStation consoles, and mobile devices. Stay tuned for more on this one.
