Pathea Games is adding more My Time at Sandrock romances in response to the game hitting 500,000 wishlists on Steam. All eligible characters will now be getting a romance subplot, so no matter who you're crushing on, you should be able to pursue them.

Why are more My Time at Sandrock romances being added?

Late last year, Pathea Games promised it would add more My Time at Sandrock romances if the game managed to hit 500k Steam wishlists. Now, it looks like that goal has been hit. In a press release, Pathea announced the impressive milestone and revealed that "all eligible characters" will now be made romanceable. It's not entirely clear what "eligible" means, but one assumes this means anyone who's single and looking for romance one way or another.

All eligible My Time at Sandrock characters will now be romanceable thanks to the game hitting 500k wishlists on Steam.

Pathea says that originally, the plan was only to have 10 romanceable NPCs (two of whom were added after the game hit 400k wishlists back in November last year) with "deeper romance stories". In response to the 500k wishlist goal, though, the developers are adding more romance stories, more AI, and other "necessary works" for all eligible NPCs in My Time at Sandrock. It's not clear whether this means the original 10 NPCs will now have less deep romance stories or whether the devs are aiming for the same level of depth across the board. We'll have to wait and see.

What is My Time at Sandrock?

My Time at Sandrock is the upcoming sequel to farming life sim My Time at Portia. Created by Pathea Games and originally announced in October 2020My Time at Sandrock was initially due to launch in Early Access in March 2021, with a full release in spring 2022. After a couple of delays, the Early Access release date for My Time at Sandrock was eventually set for May 26th this year, so that's when you'll be able to get your hands on it. When it does arrive, it'll let you interact with its community, build and maintain a farm, and even build structures in the town. The original's combat system will also be significantly expanded; you'll need to explore the game's desert in order to salvage old-world relics.

You can wishlist My Time at Sandrock right now on Steam ahead of its Early Access release next month. A release for consoles is also planned, although not until the game is out of its initial Early Access period on PC. If you're hungry for the kind of cutesy life sim action the My Time franchise offers, then you should definitely check out My Time at Portia, too. It's available on PC and consoles right now. We'll bring you more on My Time at Sandrock as soon as we get it.
