Wholesome games are all the rage nowadays, and many find solitude in playing titles such as My Time At Portia. For fans of this farming and life simulator, life is going to get a bit better with the announcement of My Time At Sandrock, a new sequel to My Time At Portia.
Developed by China-based studio Pathea Games, the Kickstarter for My Time At Sandrock is now live. This sequel takes the mechanics of the first game in the series and expands upon them, adding a new setting, characters, and even cooperative play. According to a press release, My Time At Sandrock will be about exploring and expanding the eponymous town:
Taking a job offer in the frontier town of Sandrock, you’ll assume the role of a fledgling builder being sent to a wild and rugged townscape on the brink of collapse. It’s up to you and your trusty toolset to gather resources, build machines, fix up your workshop into a well-oiled production machine, and save the town from the jaws of economic ruin, as well as a few other unexpected complications...
Players will see the town of Sandrock expand and reform as they work with machines and interact with various community members. Players will also explore the outskirts of Sandrock and go forth into three different types of dungeons. Pathea Games also revamped their combat system, allowing for a more fluid system as well as smarter AI in enemies. Other features include farming, tons of minigames, holidays, weather, and more.
For multiplayer in particular, this is a component unique to this sequel. Up to four players can join together in an "open-world map, separate from the single-player map." They also tease multiplayer specific content such as unique missions, but the same premise behind the singleplayer will carry over to the multiplayer.
The Kickstarter campaign for My Time At Sandrock has a goal of $100,000, with tiers ranging from $10 to a whopping $10,000. If you can't make it in time for the Early Bird special at $15, you can go for the base digital version of this game for $20, with a few other added goodies.
What is the My Time At Sandrock Release Date?
Assuming My Time at Sandrock has a successful campaign, the slated released date for Panthea's latest title is March 2021. First, however, it will launch on Steam's Early Access, like its predecessor. The full experience is slated to release in Spring 2022, but that could depend on how well the Early Access period for My Time At Sandrock goes. After this period, it will also be available on other PC storefronts such as GOG and the Epic Games Store.
My Time At Sandrock is also going to launch on consoles in Summer 2022 on the Switch, PS4, and Xbox One as well as their next-generation counterparts. Be sure to back this game on Kickstarter if you're interested, and also check out its Steam page.
