Like a Dragon: Ishin!

Today Sega released a brand new trailer for the upcoming action game Like a Dragon: Ishin!, which is coming really soon fulfilling the dreams of many fans.

The video focuses on one of the most iconic elements of the Yakuza series (now renamed "Like a Dragon"), minigames. We get to see fun diversions like Buyo dancing, chicken racing, Cho-han, Rock-paper-scissors, fishing, Koi-Koi, Karaoke, Oicho-Kabu, sake showdown, udon shop, Poker, cannon coaching, and sensual healing.

While the game isn't set in the iconic Tokyo district of Kamurocho in contemporary times, it's still a Yakuza game at heart, which means it's the ultimate ojisan (middle-aged dude) simulator as also showcased in the previous trailer focusing on the "Another Life" features.

You can watch it below, and pick your poison. You know better than I do that most of us will get addicted to this or that minigame and will end up spending inordinate amounts of time playing it, quite possibly neglecting the story despite the fact that the narration is also great. That's just the nature of Yakuza games. May as well embrace it.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! releases on February 21, 2023 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

In case you missed the news, this is not exactly the same game titled Ryu Ga Gotoku: Ishin! that launched exclusively on the Japanese market in 2014 for PS3 and PS4. It's actually a substantial remake similar to the Yakuza Kiwami games. In fact, the Japanese version is titled "Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin! Kiwami."

If you want to see more, you can enjoy video interviews with the voice actors that were cast for the remake in order to bring back the likeness of several popular characters from Yakuza 0, playing with Takeda Kanryusai, Ito Kashitaro, and Takechi Hanpeita.
