Today Sega released another trailer for the upcoming action game Like a Dragon: Ishin!, which is finally coming to North America and Europe, fulfilling the dreams of many Yakuza fans.
In case you missed the memo, this is not exactly the same game titled Ryu Ga Gotoku: Ishin! that launched exclusively on the Japanese market in 2014 for PS3 and PS4. It's actually a substantial remake similar to the Yakuza Kiwami games. In fact, the Japanese version is titled "Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin! Kiwami."
That being said, despite the fact that the franchise has been renamed for the west in "Like a Dragon," this is still a Yakuza game at its core, which means that there is a lot to enjoy besides fighting and dealing with dramatic storytelling.
In Ishin, this actually has its own definition, "Another Life," and today's trailer is exactly about that. We see our Kazuma Kiryu-lookalike hero Ryoma Sakamoto as he takes care of pets, enjoys some slow life on the farm, cooks, and more. Basically, like every Yakuza game, this is still the ultimate ojisan (middle-aged dude) simulator, just translated into the Bakumatsu period.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! releases on February 21, 2023 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
