A new Gran Turismo 7 update has been scheduled for early next week.

The update, which is coming on August 7th, will coincide with the release of the upcoming Gran Turismo movie, which hits theaters worldwide beginning August 9th.

Perhaps the biggest new addition in the update is the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 '18, which is essentially the vehicular protagonist of the Gran Turismo movie.

It'll be made available in Gran Turismo 7 as part of this update, along with a livery recreating the car's appearance in the movie.

Also being added in this update are four additional vehicles, including the iconic Toyota Ambulance Himedic '21, which is the latest model in Toyota's long-running series of paramedic transportation.

It joins Gran Turismo 7 alongside the first-gen Chevrolet Corvette, introduced in 1958. The Corvette effectively marked the beginning of the American sportscar era; prior to its introduction, most sportscars in the USA were imported from Europe.

Also being added in the latest Gran Turismo 7 update is the Maserati MC20, a supercar that marks Maserati's first mid-engine road car since the MC12 was discontinued in 2005.

Last but not least, you're getting the Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition '22, a 2-seater high-performance car named after the current chairman Akio Toyoda (MORIZO is his nickname).

Three new GT Cafe Extra Menus are also coming, themed around Maserati, Aston Martin, and Kei cars respectively. This is in addition to a new Fire Station Scapes section, so it's not just new cars (although, this being a racing game, they do make up the bulk of the update).

Gran Turismo 7 update 1.36 is headed to the PS5 and PS4 versions of the game on August 7th. It drops at 12am Pacific, which works out as 3am Eastern and 8am British Summer Time. Watch out for the update and make sure to install it as soon as it drops if you're interested.
