Today Sony Pictures Entertainment released a brand new trailer of the upcoming Gran Turismo movie.
The trailer features plenty of drama and action, on top of an interesting detail. The movie is based on the true story of GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough, winner of the 2011 edition of the competition. Yet, I suppose Sony didn't care to advertise Gran Turismo 5, so they changed things a bit and the game that appears on the screens is Gran Turismo 7.
We get to see some of the actors prominently featured, including Archie Madekwe, who plays the role of protagonist Jann Mardenborough, Orlando Bloom, who plays Danny Moore, and David Harbour, who plays Jack Salter.
The movie, which will launch exclusively in movie theaters in August, is directed by Neill Blomkamp of District 9, Elysium, Humandroid, and Demonic fame.
You can check out the trailer below.
If you're interested in Gran Turismo 7, it's currently available for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Polyphony Digital has been quite consistent with keeping it updated after its release in early 2022 by releasing an update with new cars nearly every month, albeit we did not get one in January 2023. A big update followed in February adding PlayStation VR2 support and more. The latest update has been released a few days ago.
