Gamers Upset Over Missing Battlefield 2042 Scoreboard

The Battlefield 2042 scoreboard isn't quite what some players expected and they're none too happy about not having ready access to gameplay stats.

The Battlefield 2042 scoreboard is missing in action and some people in the community aren't all that happy about that. Additionally, Dozer's shield has been temporarily disabled due to an issue.

Battlefield 2042 launches in Early Access tomorrow for select players roughly the month after the launch of its latest beta. From what I've personally played, it's probably the best Battlefield game yet -- but that's not to say it doesn't have its problems, too. One particular problem highlighted by players is the lack of a proper scoreboard -- and they're none too happy about it.

M.I.A. Battlefield 2042 Scoreboard is a Problem for Players

The lack of a Battlefield 2042 scoreboard isn't sitting right with some players, especially since it's been a longstanding feature of the franchise (and indeed, most shooters). Naturally, there are a fair amount of complaints on Reddit, but upset gamers are taking to Twitter as well.

"I was just watching some reviews to get familiar before launch and found out THERE'S NO SCOREBOARD at the end of round!?" read a tweet from Chris Hubick. "Are you kidding me?! I've played every BF game since Vietnam, but I think I'm gonna go to my Xbox and refund this right now."

So, why is there no traditional Battlefield 2042 scoreboard? EA DICE hasn't yet commented on it as far as I can tell. That said, quite a few developers are moving away from showing things such as K:D ratios. One such example is Pokemon Unite hiding its score in a move that devs say will prevent players from ragequitting.

On the flip side of the coin, some players note that it's more difficult to track their stats in the game without all of the proper information. Third-party stat trackers are an inevitability; one such example is Overbuff, a site that gives players way more Overwatch stats than they can get in-game. Still, it can be aggravating to not immediately have this information to hand in the game itself. We've reached out to EA DICE for comment and will update this article when we receive a reply.

Dozer's Shield Disabled for Battlefield 2042 Early Access

In addition to the missing Battlefield 2042 scoreboard, another issue has emerged: the Specialist Dozer has had his shield disabled due to an issue discovered earlier in testing.

Santiago "Dozer" Espinoza is a tanky character with an SOB-8 Ballistic Shield that can protect him from incoming fire. Unfortunately, one player reports that his defenses might be a little too strong.

"For those wondering, any time Dozer has the shield out, they become completely invincible," read a tweet from @AskJordanT. "From any angle. Including angles the shield doesn’t cover. Like his back."

Understandably, having a completely invincible player character kind of breaks the game. Dozer's shield has been disabled for now and will likely be reactivated once EA DICE has squashed the bug. For now, you can pre-order Battlefield 2042 for PC and consoles starting at $59.99 or your regional equivalent via its official website.
