Update (09/28/21, 1:16 PM ET) - EA has officially announced the Battlefield 2042 beta dates and it looks like the leaks were pretty bang on. Here are the dates and times from a press release:
- October 5, 2021 - Downloads enabled for all players
- October 6-9, 2021, 3:00 AM Eastern Time - Early Access window -
- October 8-9, 2021, 3:00 AM Eastern Time - Open Availability
- October 10, 2021, 3:00 AM Eastern Time -

Multiple sources have reported on a Battlefield 2042 beta dates leak, indicating that we'll get to play EA Dice's first-person shooter on a weekend in October 2021.
Battlefield 2042 made a splash when it was revealed earlier this year. This latest entry in the franchise is going to evolve the series with a new "cross-commerce" system (along with cross-play and cross-progression, natch) and the introduction of Specialists as a replacement for the traditional Classes.
The game was supposed to launch next month, but it unfortunately ended up being delayed -- an unfortunate situation that's plagued upcoming games both big and small. Now, a pair of new leaks claims that the Battlefield 2042 beta dates are set for early next month.
When Are the Battlefield 2042 Beta Dates?
The Battlefield 2042 beta dates will be between October 6-10 for most players, although there are some caveats about playing this new first-person shooter.
Chinese video sharing site Bilibili revealed October 6-9 as the dates as reported on ResetEra, but the dates for the Chinese market may not be the exact same for the rest of the world. Conversely, Dualshockers' Tom Henderson claimed that the dates were as follows in a tweet:
- Capture Event (presumably for press/influencers) - October 4, 2021
- Early Access - October 6
- Open Access - October 8
Between these two leaks, it looks like the Battlefield 2042 beta dates will be in the second week of October 2021 for most people. Unfortunately, an end date for the beta was not provided -- but I imagine that the beta will likely last for the duration of the weekend.
