Today Final Fantasy XIV Korean publisher Actoz Soft released a brand new trailer for the popular MMORPG, which was teased earlier this month.
Not only the trailer is really lovely, coming with a full-fledged anime style that's very appropriate to a game from Japan, but it may be the best representation of the game we've ever seen to date.
Most trailers for Final Fantasy XIV focus on the story, which is great, but this one actually places the spotlight on these aspects players enjoy every day, beyond the epic battles (which are also represented, mind you). This includes gathering, crafting, retainers, checking the market board, enjoying the free company estate with friends, treasure hunting, the Gold Saucer, and more.
It's certainly one of the best ways I've seen to show that the game has more to offer than just fighting and its awesome story, and it does so in a really cool way. Honestly, if I was Square Enix, I'd make a deal with Actoz to localize the trailer for the local market.
You can watch it below and see what I mean.
This is not the first time we get anime-style Final Fantasy XIV trailers from Korea, as another video was published almost exactly two years ago. That one was already cool, but in my opinion, this beats it.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PS5, PS4, and PC both on Steam and via stand-alone client. The game is one of the most popular MMORPGs on the planet, having pulled a basically miraculous recovery with its relaunch as "A Realm Reborn" in 2013 after its original release in 2010.
After its fourth expansion "Endwalker," it currently counts 27 million registered accounts worldwide. Recently, it received a brand new update numbered 6.3 and titled "Gods Revel, Lands Tremble," which included an adorable corgi minion, a rather dashing Eastern-style outfit, a song arranged by a legendary composer, more story both from the main scenario and sidequests, the new trial mentioned above, a new 24-player raid, a new treasure hunt tier and dungeon, new furniture for our houses (and a big housing update that brought additional wards to the residentially-starved servers of the game), new mounts, minions, gear, more goodies and features for the Island Sanctuary, new hairstyles, new emotes, and much more.
