Today the developers at Colossal Order released a new video of Cities: Skylines 2 focusing on traffic management.
The video links up with the previous one about traffic AI, and provides more details on how the player and the game will manage traffic, which is very important considering the complexity of the issue. While the original Cities: Skylines fell awfully short in terms of the technology that governed the flow of traffic.
The result was that the game ended up being unrealistically difficult because cars simply did not behave as they should (for instance by not effectively using multiple lanes) creating massive traffic jams that could be helped only with endless trial and error or the use of mods.
We also see more of how the all-important info menus work, and how service vehicles are handled, and how they deploy.
You can check out the video below.
Cities: Skylines 2 releases on October 24, 2023, for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. It'll also come to Xbox Game Pass on day one.
If you'd like to see more, you can enjoy the original reveal from March and a brand new trailer shared at the Xbox Games Showcase, where the release date was also announced.
