After months of waiting, a BIomutant release date has finally been revealed — but the future of this game on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is still in question.
Biomutant is a game that was first officially announced all the way back in August 2017. That's quite the wait for fans of this upcoming open-world kung-fu RPG featuring animal-like characters and there's still a lot that we don't yet know about this game.

When is the Biomutant Release Date?
The Biomutant release date is May 25, 2021, according to a press release from the game's publisher THQ Nordic. The game will be launching on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
There's more than just the game itself on the way, though — super-dedicated fans can also pick up the Biomutant Atomic Edition which contains the following goodies at the eye-popping price of $399.99 / £349.99 / €399.99:

Will There Be a Biomutant PS5 and Xbox Series X|S Release?
Although the Biomutant release date has finally been revealed, you may have noted a strange omission: where's the Biomutant PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release? The short answer: it hasn't yet been announced.
For the moment, the only confirmed platforms for this upcoming game are PC (via Steam), PS4, and Xbox One. The current-gen consoles have not yet been announced, although the backwards compatibility capabilities of each of these two ecosystems means that it should be playable on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with improvements based on the hardware even without a specific version. There's no mention of a Nintendo Switch version just yet, either.
THQ Nordic will have more to share about this game in the coming weeks and months. For now, you can look forward to getting your hands on Biomutant on May 25, 2021; you can pre-order Biomutant right now starting at $59.99 or your regional equivalent.
Update (01/26/21, 1:50 PM) – We've heard back from a THQ Nordic representative regarding the Biomutant PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release and a Nintendo Switch release. At this time, it can "neither deny nor confirm" a version of the game for any of those platforms.
