The Biomutant 1.4 Update has arrived, giving gamers access to a new "Extreme" difficulty setting and the option to turn off the narrator entirely along with a fair few other changes and improvements.
Biomutant is the hotly-anticipated game that puts players in the shoes of a furry mutant creature in a post-apocalyptic open world. Using a mix of martial arts, guns, and ki, you're charged with deciding the fate of Tree of Life in a grungy world with tons to discover. Now, a major post-launch update has arrived that fixes some major player gripes — and it adds new challenges, too.
What's New in Biomutant Update 1.4?
One of the more notable additions in Biomutant Update 1.4 is a series of new dialogue setting toggles. These will let you choose between hearing the narrator, the creature gibberish, or both when an NPC is speaking. Additionally, the amount of gibberish spoken before the narrator starts speaking has been reduced overall.
Speaking of... speaking, the pacing of the game has also been adjusted in the early moments. Some pieces of dialogue have been removed from the tutorial section of the game, letting players get right into the open world much faster.
If you've already beaten the game and are looking for a challenge, there's a new reason to go back and play it again — Biomutant Update 1.4 adds a new Extreme difficulty setting with higher enemy damage and attack rate. If you just want to experience the game in a new way at the same difficulty, you'll be happy to hear that the New Game+ has also gotten a bit of a buff: you can now unlock the perks from all of the game's classes.
A number of bugs, fixes, and other changes have also arrived as part of this patch; you can read about all of the details in the full Biomutant Update 1.4 patch notes. You can get started with your adventure by buying Biomutant for PC, PS4, and Xbox One via its official website.
