Deck13 and Focus have revealed the Atlas Fallen release date. The action RPG, which will have you exploring desert ruins and dispatching legendary monsters with shape-shifting weaponry, is launching across PC and consoles on May 16th, so you won't have too much longer to wait for it.
Atlas Fallen was originally announced at Gamescom last year, where an announcement trailer introduced us to the game's world and showed us a brief snippet of gameplay. Now, over on Steam, Deck13 has confirmed the game's release date and also revealed a bunch of new screenshots showing stylish combat and open-ended exploration. The studio is also promising a new gameplay trailer soon, although we don't know when just yet.
If you missed out on the announcement last year, Atlas Fallen is an action RPG set in a world covered in sand. Either by yourself or together with your friends, you'll unearth the secrets of the land that was buried beneath the sand, utilizing your shape-shifting weapon to take on a variety of monsters and build your very own moveset. You can take another look at the announcement trailer here to refresh your memory.
The promised gameplay trailer will be welcome, as we haven't seen too much else of Atlas Fallen since it was announced in August. The Steam page for the game promises "spectacular, super-powered combat" and the chance to build your own unique custom skills and abilities, which is intriguing. It remains to be seen to what degree Atlas Fallen will let you customize your character and skills, though.
Atlas Fallen is set to arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on May 16th. A gameplay trailer will be released in the coming weeks to show off more of the game's action RPG gameplay, so be sure to stay tuned for more information about that as and when we get it.
