Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, the first franchise title in a long while, just released, and with it came respectable sales numbers.
According to the Association for UK Interactive Entertainment (UKIE), Ace Combat hit second place regarding physical sales in the United Kingdom. It was most popular on the PlayStation 4, with 76% of buyers playing there. The version on Sony's system also included a VR mode which helped to push sales. Historically, this was the franchise’s most successful launch in the UK.
That said, the game was still beaten out by New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch. This Mario title is a port the Wii U’s New Super Mario Bros U and stayed at number one even with a 43% sales drop from last week.

As we can see, Red Dead Redemption 2 is going strong with Black Ops IIII close behind it. The Crash Bandicoot and Spyro remasters are still holding on, with GTA V and Mario Kart 8: Deluxe being long-time charters.
Last week saw the release of Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition debut in 9th place, though it is now in 32nd after dropping 71 percent. Conversely, Resident Evil 7 saw some additional sales with the impending release of Resident Evil 2 later this week. Capcom’s latest moved up to 28th in the charts.
