Our Retreat to Enen Hunting Guide will tell you how to Hunt Animals, where you can find Animals, and what you get for killing them!

How to Hunt in Retreat to Enen

Retreat to Enen Hunting works exactly like you'd think -- find an animal and kill them. It's pretty simple (at least until you encounter Wolves and Bears in the Valley of Giants and beyond).

Most animals can be killed with a Spear. Faster animals like the Rabbit and Deer are best dealt with by using the Bow. You should save the Bow for dangerous creatures like the Wolf, Bear, and Snake, too.

How to Unlock Hunting in Retreat to Enen

You can start Hunting in Retreat to Enen by Crafting a Spear. Some animals will require a Bow, though, and you'll have to Meditate at the first Ruins to unlock that -- check out our Retreat to Enen Walkthrough and Story Guide to learn how to find it!

How to Kill a Bear in Retreat to Enen

How to Kill a Bear in Retreat to Enen

You can kill a Bear in Retreat to Enen with a Bow. It takes 10 Arrows to kill a Bear, but it's worth it -- you'll get 12 Large Raw Meat and 8 Pelts for your trouble.

Do not, under any circumstances, attempt to fight a Bear in melee. You will die before you get enough hits in with your Spear. I have tried it several times with absolutely no success.

As the preceding section explains, Bears are the most dangerous animals in Retreat to Enen. Fight them at range with a Bow and from a high place.
