How Retreat to Enen Crafting Works
Retreat to Enen Crafting is exclusively done through your menu -- you won't need any workbenches or anything like that. However, you won't have access to very many recipes at the beginning of the game.

These items are unlocked by default and available at the beginning of the game.
Basic Shelter

Fire Pit

Raincatcher

Cooking Pot

Water Canister

Rabbit Trap

Spear

This is your primary tool for Hunting.
Enen Ruins 1 Crafting Recipes and Unlocks
Meditating at the first Ruins will unlock several useful items, including the tools you need for Farming and Hunting.
Flag
- Menu - Survival
- Cost - 1 Enen Flower, 2 Dead Plant Fiber, 1 Wood
These can be used to mark paths.
Water Flask
- Menu - Survival
- Cost - 1 Cured Pelt, 2 Dead Plant Fiber, 1 Rock, 2 GemStone
This gives you four charges that can fully restore your Thirst meter. Sadly, it can only be filled at a Raincatcher.
Planter
- Menu - Survival
- Cost - 1 GemStone, 4 Dead Plant Fiber, 4 Wood
This is used to grow crops with Farming.
Tonic Bottle
- Menu - Survival
- Cost - 2 GemStone, 1 Dead Plant Fiber
These are used to store Antiseptic, Antivenom, and Spirit Tonic and take them with you on the go.
Hammock
- Menu - Survival
- Cost - 4 Cured Pelt, 6 Dead Plant Fiber, 8 Wood
This is your first proper bed that can be placed indoors.
Smoker
- Menu - Survival
- Cost - 6 Rock, 2 Wood, 10 Clay
This allows you to smoke Meat, a key strategy for Cooking food that won't easily rot.
Furnace
- Menu - Survival
- Cost - 4 Wood, 6 Rock, 10 Clay
This is effectively a Fire Pit for indoor use. Unfortunately, it can't fit a Cooking Pot. You can, however, still Cook Meat on it directly like you could with a Fire Pit that doesn't have a Cooking Pot.
Basket
- Menu - Survival
- Cost - 2 Dead Plant Fiber, 4 Wood
This is your first true form of storage -- drop items inside of the basket to keep them from rolling away.
Bow
- Menu - Hunting
- Cost - 2 GemStone, 4 Dead Plant Fiber, 2 Wood
This is a better tool for Hunting animals at range and is best used for dealing with more dangerous creatures like Wolves and Bears.
Arrow
- Menu - Hunting
- Cost - 1 Feather, 1 Rock, 1 Wood
Pelt Drying Rack
- Menu - Hunting
- Cost - 4 Dead Plant Fiber, 6 Wood
Animals you've Hunted will drop Pelts -- you'll need one of these to turn them into Cured Pelts.
Enen Ruins 2 Crafting Recipes and Unlocks
Completing the second Ruins will give you access to the Head Lamp, a key piece of equipment that effectively serves as a flashlight.
Head Lamp
- Menu - Survival
- Cost - 2 Oyster Shell, 1 Cured Pelt, 1 GemStone
The Head Lamp lights up the area in front of you. It never runs out of power.
Fish Net
- Menu - Hunting
- Cost - 4 Wood, 8 GemStone, 12 Dead Plant Fiber
These can somehow be used to catch Fish, but I've never had them work for me. It's easier to go Hunting and poke them with a Spear instead.
Crab Pot
- Menu - Hunting
- Cost - 1 Rotten Meat, 4 Dead Plant Fiber, 10 Wood
These can catch Crabs once properly baited. A Crab Pot is automatically baited once placed for the first time, but you'll have to replace the bait after a Crab is caught.
Solar Garden Lamp
- Menu - Luxury
- Cost - 2 Obsidian, 2 GemStone, 1 Wood
Enen Ruins 3 Crafting Recipes and Unlocks
The third Ruins gives you access to some neat items for Building. More importantly, it gives you access to your first proper Storage.

The final Ruins in The Great North does not unlock any new Crafting Recipes. That makes sense -- this is your final objective. Meditating at the final Ruins opens up the portal to return you home.
