Watch Dogs Legion is set to be the third game in Ubisoft's popular action-adventure franchise. In 2014 we saw the release of the original Watch Dogs and this was followed in November 2016 by Watch Dogs 2. Originally leaked by an Amazon page in June 2019, the game was then confirmed by Ubisoft's Watch Dogs Twitter account, showing a short clip and promising more information at the upcoming E3 conference for Ubisoft. Set to take place in London, albeit a skewed, dystopian version, the game draws on the real-life extreme surveillance levels that are already in use in both the city and country, in order to feed into player's experience. It will also presumably build on the previous games in the Watch Dogs franchise and the mechanics and themes established therein.
As quoted from the Amazon product page, which has since been removed for the product leak:
Additionally, the following statement about the game was also found:
"Watch Dogs Legion is set in a near-future, dystopian version of London. It’s a post-Brexit world in which society, politics, and technology have changed and altered London’s fortunes. London is one of the most iconic cities in the world and has had a massive influence on all of Western Culture fur centuries… London makes total sense for WD, as the city has one of the highest [surveillance] levels in the world making this the perfect playground."
Release date, platforms and more plot details are forthcoming from Ubisoft's appearance at E3 2019. The official Watch Dogs Twitter account simply posted "God Save the NPCs. Reveal at E3." There was also a short blurry clip of the logo posted with no further details about the plot or details of the game.
