Xbox has officially announced that it's teaming up with the Barbie brand for some fun collaborations and giveaways. These include two free Forza Horizon 5 vehicles, as well as the chance to win one of several Barbie dolls kitted out in Xbox swag and a rather special Xbox Series S.
The Barbie movie is due in theaters on July 21st, and to celebrate, Xbox is bringing Barbie's "signature flair" to its gaming ecosystem. First up, you're getting two Forza Horizon 5 cars: a pink 1956 Chevrolet Corvette and a silver 2022 GMC Hummer. Now you can choose to race online competitors in Barbie or Ken's signature vehicles. Both of these cars will be free to everyone who plays Forza Horizon 5 and can be obtained via the game's Message Center.
As part of the collab, Xbox is also spotlighting various staffers with stories to tell about how Barbie impacted them growing up. The video will air on July 14th as part of a "very special" livestream, where you'll also get to see the stream's hosts race in Forza Horizon 5 using the new Barbie cars.
Xbox has also rounded up ten Barbie dolls that are "reflective of the Barbie line" and kitted them out in "the latest Xbox Gear fashion". These dolls, along with accessories including an Xbox Series S, a controller, and an Xbox Adaptive Controller, will be up for grabs as part of an "international sweepstakes", according to Xbox.
Last but not least, you're also getting the chance to win several interchangeable Xbox controller faceplates, all modeled after Barbie's unique aesthetic, as well as a swanky-looking Xbox Series S console that's been integrated into the Barbie DreamHouse. You'll get your chance to win these starting from July 10th, so make sure to get ready to enter if you want to snap these up.
Of course, this isn't all that's going on in the world of Xbox right now. The company also recently revealed it would be hiking the prices of Xbox Game Pass and its flagship Xbox Series X, shortly after announcing its subscription service's lineup for the second part of June and the first part of July. Stay tuned for more Xbox news as and when we get it.
