Poncle has taken to Steam to share its plans for Vampire Survivors in 2024, and there are a few very interesting tidbits to get excited about if you're a fan.
Perhaps the most exciting piece of news in the end-of-year wrap-up is that Poncle will be "teaming up with other indie devs to work on some VS-adjacent experiments".
These experimental projects aren't fully outlined yet; Poncle says it's essentially going to start with an idea, experiment with that idea, and then see if it bears fruit. The projects may never even see the light of day on a public basis; it's all about having fun, according to Poncle.
It's not clear whether these projects will be fully-fledged games or crossovers akin to those featured in games like Dead Cells or Dead by Daylight (albeit with a stricter indie focus, presumably). We'll have to wait a little while for more info on that.
Like Dead Cells and its animated series, however, Vampire Survivors is getting a TV show, and Poncle has promised more information on that at some point this year.
The developer also says that online co-op in Vampire Survivors is "looking promising", but it's too early to announce anything yet. Cross-save, meanwhile, is looking a little healthier, and is scheduled to enter public beta in February (albeit only on Steam and Android to begin with).
As for what's coming next to Vampire Survivors, update 1.9 is currently available on the game's public beta branch on Steam, and Poncle is aiming to release the update for all platforms in February.
It'll come complete with "a few performance and QoL improvements", according to Poncle. The studio also says that "the vast majority" of upcoming updates for Vampire Survivors are roughly on the same level as the recent Whiteout update in terms of scale.
Be sure to give the full Vampire Survivors end-of-year wrap-up a read if you want to know more about the game's plans for the year to come.
Vampire Survivors is available right now on PC, Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices. Stay tuned for more on this one.
