Vampire Survivors update 1.9, otherwise known as the Space-54 update, is here, and it's bringing a brand new stage, new characters to play as, and more.
We last heard about this update during developer Poncle's end-of-year Vampire Survivors roundup, at which point the developer said it was hoping to make update 1.9 available sometime in February.
Now, Poncle has made good on that promise, and the Space-54 update's new features begin with the titular stage, which, as you've probably guessed from the name, takes place in space.
Two new characters have also been added, and they're pretty appropriate for this update's setting. One is a speedy fighter, while the other is "slightly tanky", according to Poncle.
New weapons have also been introduced, adding even more ways for you to slaughter your way through countless enemies in true Vampire Survivors style.
You can take a look at the trailer for Vampire Survivors update 1.9, which gives a flavor of what kind of content you can expect from the patch, right here.
As well as describing what's in the update itself, Poncle also teases what's coming next. The developer says there will be a more "dark/serious" setting added in an upcoming patch, and while it won't come as part of the next update, it'll arrive "soon enough".
Vampire Survivors update 1.9 also comes with an absolute ton of gameplay improvements and fixes, so if you want to read about those, as well as all the new content, you can check out the full patch notes here.
If you're yet to play Vampire Survivors, it's a fast-paced arcade-style "auto-shooter" in which your only real role is to move. You'll upgrade weapons and skills as you go, but your arsenal fires automatically, so you just need to move and aim.
You can check out Vampire Survivors right now on PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
