Behaviour Interactive has announced that Alan Wake is making his way to Dead by Daylight at the end of this month.
The studio teased the crossover yesterday in a post that simply depicted a flashlight and a bloodstained page, as well as the text "learn more on January 9th" written in a typewriter-style font.
In another post earlier today, Behaviour confirmed the Alan Wake crossover, as well as announcing a release date of January 30th.

A brief teaser trailer introduces Wake to the world of Dead by Daylight, complete with a classic Remedy-style voiceover in which he waxes lyrical about his predicament.
At the conclusion of the trailer, he picks up his flashlight and ventures out into the woods in a shot reminiscent of chapter conclusions from the original Alan Wake, but it doesn't seem like he's in Bright Falls anymore.

Wake is far from Dead by Daylight's first crossover star.
He joins a roster that also includes horror icons like Chucky, Ringu's Sadako, and Silent Hill's Pyramid Head, alongside a number of other iconic movie and video game characters.
Alan himself will be joining Dead by Daylight's roster as a survivor, but we don't yet know who the franchise's corresponding killer will be.
A number of different candidates seem appropriate, from actress Barbara Jagger through to the doppelganger Mr. Scratch. Even Doctor Emil Hartman would make sense, especially given his appearance in Control's Alan Wake-related DLC.
It's likely we'll learn more about Alan Wake's appearance in Dead by Daylight in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can grab Dead by Daylight across all major platforms, and Remedy's latest Alan Wake adventure Alan Wake 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
