Today, the Japanese arm of Sony made a couple of interesting audio accessories dedicated to the popular online RPG Genshin Impact available for preorder as part of a collaboration with HoYoverse.
The first item is a set of noise-canceling earbuds. You can pick a laser engraving portraying one of the elements in the game and the color between white, black, and ecru. It's priced at 27,500 yen on Sony's online store which translates roughly into $211.
It'll start shipping on February 1, and it'll be available only until April 6.
Next is a set of neck speakers displaying the Genshin Impact Logo and the engraved elements. This one comes only in white and doesn't have specific options. It's priced at 26,400 yen (approximately $202) on Sony's online store. Availability dates are the same as the earbuds.
On top of the pre-orders, we hear that a special event will be hosted at the Sony Stores in Ginza (Tokyo), Sapporo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka. Between tomorrow (January 13) and January 29, fans will be prompted to search for a hidden Paimon within the stores and post pictures on social media, while a Genshin Impact clear file will be distributed on a first come first serve basis. There will also be hands-on opportunity with the earbuds and speakers.
If you're unfamiliar with Genshin Impact, it's currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. A Nintendo Switch version has been announced a long time ago, but HoYoverse has gone under the radar with it and has not said anything since despite confirming multiple times that it hasn't been canceled. We'll have to wait and see if 2023 will finally be the year of Genshin on Nintendo's console.
