Today Sabotage Studio released a new trailer of its gorgeous pixel-art RPG Sea of Stars, while a demo has been made available on Steam.

The trailer is brief, but it showcases a look at various gameplay elements including the overworld, ways of traversal, combat, fishing, cooking, and more. Of course, everything is portrayed in Sea of Stars' superb art style.

On top of that, the playable demo is now available for PC via Steam as part of the Steam Next Fest event. It was already playable on Switch since its release a while ago.

You can watch the trailer below.

Sea of Stars is a prequel set in the universe of Sabotage's Studio acclaimed game The Messenger and it has been funded with a successful Kickstarter campaign that reached its goal in a single day. It'll release for PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on August 29, 2023.

This game offers retro-style turn-based battles with timed attacks and defense, tactical use of damage types, and more. The pixel art visuals are beautiful, with dynamic lighting and additional effects.

The music includes contributions from renowned JRPG composer Yasunori Mitsuda, though he didn't compose the entire soundtrack. You can read more about the score in our previous dedicated article from a few weeks ago, on top of a clip showing the "Artful Gambit" option intended to add challenge to the game, and an extensive video showing the "Wheels" tabletop minigame that can be played at taverns.
