This isn't the only new Pokemon Unite news for the day. Espeon joined the game earlier this week alongside a special event; you have until June 12, 2022, to complete a special event that will allow you to unlock Espeon without spending any Aeos Gems. Additionally, the first two chapters of the Pokemon Unite manga have been published online.
You can sign up for a Pokemon Unite Membership in-game if you think it's a good deal. If you haven't yet jumped into the game, you can play Pokemon Unite for free on Nintendo Switch.
