Pokemon Unite has just reached its first year anniversary, which means fans can expect new Pokemon to play, log-in bonus gifts to acquire, and in-game challenges to complete. There's also a new quick-battle event, Boss Rush, that will be available for a limited time. Let's take a look at it all, shall we?
What can fans expect during Pokemon Unite's first year anniversary?
Everyone likes free goodies, and if players log in they will earn a Pokemon Unite license and Holowear. If they already own the Unite license or Holowear, then they will receive 100 Aeos coins for each license or Holowear they own. Here's the list:
- Day 1: Pikachu + Fashionable Style: Pikachu
- Day 2: Lucario + Concert Style: Lucario
- Day 3: Blastoise + Firefighter Style: Blastoise
- Day 4: Snorlax + Bedtime Style: Snorlax
- Day 5: Sylveon + Checkered Style: Sylveon
Six new Unite licenses will be added to the game as well, with three more being revealed in September. The three revealed Pokemon are Glaceon, which will be available on July 21st, Buzzwole, which is coming on August 3rd, and Tyranitar, which will arrive on August 15th.
The in-game event that's on its way is the Anniversary Cake Challenge, which will take place between July 21 to September 2, 2022. Players will receive frosting for logging in, battling, and completing missions. As players collect frosting, they can complete the anniversary cake and receive rewards for doing so.
Boss Rush is a new mode that will be available for a limited time. It's the first PvE-style quick-battle event for the game, and players will have to work together with other players to defeat powerful boss Pokemon. The higher the team's score in the Boss Rush rankings. the better the rewards they will receive. Here are the dates when the mode will be available:
- Period 1: Thursday, July 21, 2022 – Sunday, July 24, 2022
- Period 2: Sunday, July 31, 2022 – Sunday, August 7, 2022
- Period 3: Sunday, August 14, 2022 – Sunday, August 21, 2022
There's also a new feature coming to the game: Pokemon Boost Emblems, which players can obtain as energy rewards. There are three grades players can acquire: gold, silver, and bronze, and players can make custom load-outs to use the effects of the boost emblems in battle.
Last but not least is the Icy Glaceon Challenge, which will be coming on July 21 and staying on August 15, 2022. Players can earn Glaceon's license by completing a special mission challenge, and the new Holowear will also be released as part of the event.
