During today's Nintendo Direct, we got a new look at the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC. The trailer showcased some of the adventures you can look forward to in The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk, both of which are scheduled for release in a few months.
The new trailer begins with a look at The Teal Mask, which takes place at a festival in the countryside. This first DLC part, which is one of two, revolves around the Loyal Three, a trio of legendary Pokemon who have historically protected the region. We also got to see the banner legendary for The Teal Mask, Ogerpon, although we don't know much more about it yet.
Following this first Teal Mask look, we then get to see some footage from The Indigo Disk, the followup DLC that's due out a few months after The Teal Mask. This time, you're headed to a futuristic academy out in the middle of the ocean in order to investigate the mystery of the legendary Pokemon Terapagos.
Unfortunately, we didn't get release dates for either DLC, but we did get to meet new characters like Terarium owner Lacey and stylish trainers Carmine and Kieran, who "welcome" the player to the village of Kitakami, where the Festival of Masks is taking place. All in all, it's shaping up to be an essential experience for you if you loved Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
That's not all, though! A new special event has also started in which you can get Chest Form Gimmighoul in new 5-star Raid Battles, and that's running until July 2nd. You can also get some free stuff - Nuggets, Rare Candies, and a Friend Ball - by inputting the code "TREASUREHUNT" in Mystery Gift before July 31st.
A new Detective Pikachu game is coming
We also got a first look at a brand new Detective Pikachu game, titled Detective Pikachu Returns. This game was first inadvertently confirmed back in late 2021, but it's been officially unveiled now, and you'll once again be playing as Tim Goodman alongside his talkative Pikachu. You can see the new trailer right here.
The new game will feature plenty of 'mons that weren't in the original title, like Inteleon, Luxray, and Pangoro, and you'll once again be solving a mystery involving the legendary Pokemon Mewtwo. Detective Pikachu Returns is launching for Nintendo Switch on October 6th. The trailer delightfully closes with Pikachu wishing someone would bring him some coffee. I'm right there with you, my guy.
