Today Nihon Falcom released a trailer and a commercial for its upcoming action JRPG Ys X: Nordics.
The videos provide an introduction to the characters we'll meet during this new adventure for the series' traditional hero Adol Christin, this time paired with the Viking-ish heroine Karja.
We also get to see gameplay, and everything is crowned by the awesome music by the inevitable Falcom Sound Team jdk. When I said that the trailers rocked, I wasn't joking.
You can check them out below. Speaking of rocking, you can also take a look at a previous video providing a sample of the soundtrack.
Update 9/1/2023: Clouded Leopard Entertainment released the main trailer with English Subtitles, and you can watch it below.
Of course, you should keep in mind that, while Clouded Leopard releases trailers in English for the Asian market, it actually doesn't hold the license to release the game itself localized in English. We'll have to wait for NIS America.
Ys X: Nordics will release in Japan and Asia on September 28, 2023, for PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. An announcement for a Western release has not been made just yet.
Usually, the localization of Nihon Falcom games is done by NIS America, and they're usually slightly faster with Ys games than with Trails games, mostly because they're not several titles behind.
Hopefully, we'll hear more relatively soon, especially considering that the Japanese release date is coming close.
If you want to see more of the upcoming game you can take a look at a recent gallery of screenshots, a second batch, more images, another batch, a slightly older gallery with more details, another trailer, more gameplay, and another video in English which unfortunately doesn't mean what you may think it means.
