Today Nihon Falcom livestreamed the first gameplay reveal of the upcoming JRPG Ys X: Nordics.
The gameplay can be found in the video below starting at the 1:20:00 mark. We get to see the initial cutscene with Adol and his body Dogi, and then we take a look at some exploration, traversal, and combat gameplay with Adol himself and the other playable heroine Karja.
More gameplay showcases one of the game's big new features, naval exploration and combat, followed by a boss battle.
You can check it out below.
Ys X: Nordics is releasing in Japan in 2023 for PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. If you're interested in the series, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will soon release on PS5.
If you want to see more of the upcoming game you can take a look at the latest screenshots, and a slightly older gallery with more details.
At the moment, the game has been announced only for Japan. NIS America usually brings Nihon Falcom's games over to the West, but they have not revealed a localization just yet. Considering the usual paces, we can likely expect to have to wait a while before we get to play Ys X: Nordics in English (I'd love to be surprised about this). Albeit, luckily, the Ys series isn't as far behind as the Trails series, so it may not be too bad.
