Microids has announced the Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient Express release date. The point-and-click adventure, which is based on the iconic detective novel, will launch for PC and consoles on October 19th, and if you really love using ze little grey cells, there's a deluxe edition to grab as well.
Unlike the upcoming Agatha Christie - Hercule Poirot: The London Case, Murder on the Orient Express is being developed in-house at Microids Lyon. It's an adaptation of the novel, which sees legendary Belgian detective Hercule Poirot attempting to solve a murder on the titular train.
This particular adaptation takes the form of a point-and-click adventure game; it was hardly going to be a Doom-style boomer shooter, hilarious as that would have been. As Poirot, you'll question suspects, uncover clues, and make logical deductions to uncover the culprit behind this heinous crime.
Lest you think there's nothing here for you if you've already read the book, though, think again. As well as Poirot's story on the titular Orient Express, you'll also experience a modern story starring a new character by the name of Joanna Locke. Her story will "augment" Poirot's original tale, according to Microids, and you'll complete a second investigation in parallel to the one Poirot is undertaking.
If you're particularly partial to a spot of extravagance, then you may also want to plump for the Deluxe Edition of Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient Express. This version of the game comes complete with a 48-page artbook featuring illustrations based on the game, as well as a digital soundtrack and a charming Orient Express ticket bookmark. Now you can tell everyone you boarded that fateful train and got to see Poirot in action!
Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient Express launches for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on October 19th.
