Hunt: Showdown has slowly turned into a great game and a decent hit for Crytek, who've creating an interesting universe set at the end of the 19th century in Louisana. People with money to burn have noticed, with Binge-an upcoming streaming service-has announced with Crytek that a Hunt: Showdown tv show is in the works.
For those who don't know what Hunt: Showdown is, it's an intriguing mix between battle-royale and Escape From Tarkov where 1890's Lousiana has been overrun by zombies. You are a bounty hunter that must claim bounties while dealing with zombies, massive monsters, and other bounty hunters that are trying to kill you while also trying to complete the same bounties. It's a tense experience that is alternatively thrilling and nerve-wracking, and a Hunt: Showdown tv show, if done right, would be a lot of fun to watch.
"We have always known that Hunt: Showdown would look great as a live-action series,” said Avni Yerli, Crytek founder and joint CEO. “The world is dark, gritty, and immersive, and there is so much potential for many great stories to be told. We can't wait to see what the team at Binge can create."
Binge.com is an upcoming streaming platform that will be "showcasing premium original series and shows inspired by the most popular game worlds and content creators." The site will launch for free in 2022 for TV, phones, PC, and game consoles.
“We're incredibly excited to partner with Crytek on this series,” said Allan Ungar, producer for Binge. “New players are constantly discovering Hunt: Showdown and falling in love with its bold and unique world, and we can't wait for fans to see what we anticipate will be the first of many collaborations with Crytek.”
