Hoyoverse has announced the Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 update, and as you might imagine, it's a pretty big one.

Set to launch in February, Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 will take you to Mars, which, it turns out, is actually not only inhabitable, but inhabited.

There, you'll find residents with their own rich lives, as well as a unique culture and ecosystem completely different to the one you're leaving behind.

Not only that, but Hoyoverse says you'll also be able to uncover "mysteries hidden behind the daily lives of residents". Exciting stuff. You can check out the first-look trailer for Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 right here.

As well as being able to visit Mars, Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 will also bring a "full upgrade" to the combat system, according to a press release.

Every character can now jump, which will lead to new combat strategies and challenges. In the trailer, we get to see a character juggling an enemy Devil May Cry-style, and new aerial combos are also being added.

A new Astral Ring mechanic will enable "simultaneous burst skills", and will give you an easier way to deal massive damage over a short period of time.

In addition, Hoyoverse is improving the combat AI of your enemies in Honkai Impact 3rd.

Enemies will "no longer be simple-minded opponents", according to the developer, and will instead "react in more interesting and intelligent ways" to your combat strategies.

It's clear that this is going to be a bigger and more substantial endeavor than previous updates for the game, even if it's not bringing any snazzy crossover content with it.

Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 launches in February. No more specific release date for the game has been revealed yet, so stay tuned for more info on this.
