Gwent Team Planning a Public Stress Test

Want to play Gwent: The Witcher Card Game before anyone else? Even before the closed beta? You may get the chance too soon if you can get into their public stress test in the works. CD Projekt Red is planning a "Kill the Servers!" event to put their Gwent servers to the test and are inviting fans to be the guinea pigs. The Gwent team put out advertisements for the stress test today, telling fans to check back for codes and information on September 22nd. The test themselves will be on September 23rd (5PM-9PM CEST) and September 27th (8PM-12AM CEST). This will be the first time Gwent is made available to play to the general public, though content will be restricted for testing purposes.

The "Kill the Servers!" event will only be available to players on PC and participation is limited. Players will be able to sign up on a first-come, first served basis and there will be notice about when codes are released on the Gwent Twitter and Facebook pages. CDPR clarifies that getting access to the "Kill the Servers!" event does not guarantee admittance into the Closed Beta and that players won't be able to create decks, progress in level, or do anything which will actually save to that account. Only players who have signed up for the Closed Beta will be able to participate in the "Kill the Servers!" event. It can be assumed that the single player campaign will not be available (since the point will be testing the online servers).

The best card art for Gwent.

CD Projekt Red officially announced Gwent: The Witcher Card Game at E3 2016 after rumors abounded that the hotly demanded game would make an appearance. While the spirit of the minigame from The Witcher 3 is still there, the developers say they have greatly expanded it and included extensive single player campaigns. Originally the card game was to enter Closed Beta in September, but the developers pushed the date to the end of October in order to further polish the game. Sign ups for the Closed Beta are still open, and those who have already signed up can expect information soon.

The Closed Beta will commence October 25th. You can follow the Gwent Twitter and Facebook to find out when codes will be handed out for the "Kill the Servers!" event.
