CD Projekt RED is finally showing some love to its The Witcher spin-off, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, and overhaul its progression system. The studio's latest blog post went into more detail on what The Journey update will bring to the game, and it introduces a 100-leveled season pass for players to earn rewards for simply completing certain quests and playing the game.
The Journey update brings a three-month long season pass for players to unlock all of its rewards. Each round and match you come out victorious from will earn you tiers, and as you progress, you unlock various cosmetics for your character. There is both a free and premium tiers to go through, and understandably, the premium rewards a little more exciting. Rewards vary from simple player avatars and reward points to trophies and accessories to decorate your character in-game. Not only that, the update brings with it a new type of ornaments for players to use, called Gwent: Coins.
CD Projekt RED's strong narrative nature compelled them to add a new dynamic to Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, where at the beginning of every week, players will get to experience a new chapter of the Journey's story. It follows an adventure whom Geralt and master bard Dandelion set off on, and will contribute to your tier progression once you complete the quests it brings.
The Journey update is live on all platforms Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is available on. Make sure to check out the update's trailer below for a sneak peek on what the tiers hold, the new coin items, the Journey's upcoming chapters, and more.
