Few MMORPG theme songs are as memorable as Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker's "Close in the Distance" and a new special version has been released.
The new version, revealed by South Korean publisher Actoz Soft, is performed by popular singer and songwriter Ha Hyun-woo, lead vocal and guitarist of the local rock band Guckkasten. Like the version of "Flow" performed by Kim Yoon-ah released last week, it's very good.
Of course, you don't need to just take my word for it, and you can check out the special music video featuring the song below. Let's just say that it includes some very nostalgic moments, so perhaps you should grab some tissues to bring along for the ride.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PC, PS5, and PS4. After its fourth expansion "Endwalker," the game currently counts 27 million registered accounts worldwide. The massively popular MMORPG has recently received the major 6.4 update "The Dark Throne," while new details about its next expansion are expected for the North American fanfest on July 28.
A few days ago, producer and director Naoki Yoshida teased the possibility of a collaboration with Final Fantasy XVI. On top of that, Square Enix has made the highly-anticipated third volume of the popular book series Encyclopaedia Eorzea available for pre-order.
