If you're among the many who believe that Glamours are Final Fantasy XIV's true endgame, this new collaboration with Vogue Japan is for you.

The collaboration, announced today via press release, includes several initiatives, and it's designed to celebrate A Realm Reborn's 10th Anniversary. The revival of the now-popular MMORPG was released on August 24, 2013.

The first stage of the collaboration is perhaps the most obvious, a competition among player-created looks. Before Saturday, September 3, 2023, at 23:59 Japan Time, you need to fill out the application from on the official site

The only requirement is having an active Final Fantasy XIV account and agreeing to the rules.

It's worth mentioning that, while the contest is obviously focused on Japan and the form itself is available only in Japanese, there's no rule prohibiting participation for Western players and I managed to log into the form with my American account just fine.

You're required to submit a picture of your character with a look themed after "Future Adventure" with the following requirements:

  • The screenshot should only include default in-game assets. You know what I mean.
  • When using Gpose, only the standard frame is acceptable.
  • Only one image per application.
  • The format is 1080 X 1920 pixels.
  • The image needs to be JPG or PNG.
  • The file size needs to be 3MB or less.

Keep in mind that you can apply as many times as you want, but you need to submit different applications for each screenshot. Also, only one character should be portrayed per screenshot.

The form also requires you to include your character name, your home server (yes, if you're wondering, all servers can be selected, even outside of the Japanese data centers), your character page on the official  Lodestone, your nickname, and a message.

The winning images (judged by the Final Fantasy XIV and Vogue Japan's management teams) will be exhibited at the magazine's corner at the "A Decade's Journey" event which will be hosted from September 28 to October 2 at the famous luxury mall Isetan Shinjuku in Tokyo.

Some of the images will also be showcased on Vogue Japan's website.

The second part of the collaboration will be a special chat between Final Fantasy XIV lead character concept artist Ayumi Namae and Vogue Japan's head of editorial content Tiffany Godoy. It will be published on the issue of the magazine that will release on September 1.

It'll focus on the common denominator between games and fashion.

The third stage of the crossover is official collaboration apparel from the Vogue Collection that will be available at the Isetan event mentioned above.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PC, PS5, and PS4, while an Xbox Series X|S version has been announced a few weeks ago and will begin its open beta relatively soon with a final release window in spring 2024.

Players in open beta will be able to play on the live servers with everyone else as it happened a while ago with the PS5 versions.

The Dawntrail expansion has also just been revealed and will launch in Summer 2024. We already have many details and plenty of screenshots for your perusal. While we wait to hear more, Square Enix also shared plenty of information about the upcoming update, numbered 6.5.
