Keen Games has announced that an Enshrouded demo will be available to check out next month.
The promising-looking survival RPG was announced in May, with a combat-oriented gameplay trailer following in June, but you'll soon get to try it out for yourself.
Per a press release, an Enshrouded demo will be released during the upcoming Steam Next Fest, which means you'll get to play Keen's game between October 9th and 16th.
Most of the features present in the game's Early Access build will be playable in the demo, albeit with a "limited geographical scope", according to the developers.
This includes exploration and combat, naturally, but also terraforming, building, and various other systems that will be present in Enshrouded's Early Access release.
A new Enshrouded trailer has also been released to commemorate the demo announcement, showing just some of the things you'll be able to do. Here's the new trailer in all its, uh, unshrouded glory.
In particular, Keen says it wants to attract newbies to the survival genre to Enshrouded's demo, because the game takes a "relaxed approach" to traditional survival elements.
You'll receive buffs from utilizing food and shelter rather than dying if you don't eat, and you can also venture into villages to meet NPC companions and battle enemies for loot.
Multiplayer mode will also be available in the demo if you want to check it out alongside a friend, although you can also choose to explore the game solo if you prefer.
Enshrouded is currently slated for a Q4 2023 release in Early Access on PC. No more specific announcements regarding release dates or other platforms have been made as yet.
Our very own Robert N. Adams got to try out the game alongside fellow Raptor Isaac Todd, and they both came away "impressed" by Enshrouded's ambitious voxel take on survival. You'll be able to find out whether you're as impressed as they were when the demo arrives on October 9th.
