Disintegration multiplayer is going to be gradually shut down in several phases over the next month. The first phase has already gone into effect with the removal of the in-game store.

If you haven't yet played Disintegration, this is a sci-fi title from Private Division, it is a division of Take-Two and is the same company which published The Outer Worlds and Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. Disintegration was first announced last year and launched back in June of this year.

If you're not quite familiar with the game, have a gander at the Disintegration Announcement Trailer from last year to get a feel for its vibe:

Disintegration tells the tale of Romer Shaol, the commander of a resistance force in the future. Mankind is changing rapidly, and neither Shoal nor his compatriots are too keen on that.

Central to the game are gravcycles, heavily-armed hovercraft with that feature mighty cannons and surprising agility. Players could blast their enemies to pieces in both singleplayer and multiplayer, but now it seems that Disintegration multiplayer is coming to an end.

Why is Disintegration Multiplayer Shutting Down?

Disintegration multiplayer is closing down for one simple reason: not enough people were playing the game.

"While our player base showed interest in the [single-player] campaign, the game unfortunately struggled to build a significant audience necessary for a compelling multiplayer experience," read a portion of a statement on the game's official website. "After weighing options, we have collectively made the decision to sunset the multiplayer support."

"We believe the video game industry needs constant innovation, and we will continue to take risks, follow creative visions, and support new ideas."

If you haven't had a chance to check out this game's multiplayer, now is the time. You can still buy Disintegration for PC via Steam, PS4 via the PlayStation Store, and Xbox One via the Microsoft Store at the price of $39.99 or your regional equivalent. Disintegration multiplayer closes down for good on November 17, 2020.
