Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto's latest project is revving up for release. Disintegration is a sci-fi first-person shooter set to hit consoles and PC this June. If you're a Halo fan, this'll be one you'll want to check out.
Disintegration is set in a world riven by famine, scarce resources, and imminent destruction. To combat impending doom, humanity has invented a process called Integration, in which human brains are uploaded into robotic armatures. This process was once optional, but an aggressive legion called the Rayonne gains control and begins to impose Integration on humanity in order to consolidate its power. You can check out the announcement trailer for Disintegration right here:
You'll take control of Romer Shoal, a Gravcycle pilot leading a band of outlaws against the Rayonne threat. Marcus Lehto's development outfit V1 Interactive is promising a "thrilling single-player campaign" full of diverse missions, action-packed sequences, and plot twists. The gameplay will blend real-time elements and tactical options. Lehto says he wanted to build a campaign around innovative mechanics and rich narrative, so if you're a fan of Halo's single-player campaigns, it sounds like you'll be getting what you're after in Disintegration.
Does Disintegration have a multiplayer component?
It most certainly does. Disintegration's multiplayer mode will see you and your "Crew" facing off against other players in three game modes across six maps. According to publisher Private Division, Disintegration's Crews each have their own look and approach to combat. There will also be plenty of cosmetic stuff to earn in-game including pilot and crew skins, cosmetic Gravcycle customizations, and banners. V1 and Private Division will support Disintegration post-launch with seasonal DLC drops.
Disintegration launches for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 16th. If you want to keep up with it, you can check out the game's official website.
