NIS America has released a brand new Disgaea 7 trailer showing off some of the game's new features and gameplay mechanics.
Previous trailers have provided introductions to the long-running series and spotlighted some of the seventh installment's idiosyncratic characters, but this one's all about innovation.
First up, the trailer focuses on Jumbification, which allows your characters to grow to a massive size and dominate the battlefield.
Enemies can also take advantage of Jumbification, so you'll need to know the right moment to press your advantage or pull back and play defensively. Naturally, since this is Disgaea and everything is completely insane, weapons can also be Jumbified.
Next up, we get a look at Hell Mode, which allows you to unleash devastating attacks after building up your fury on the battlefield.
In true Disgaea style, these attacks will be massively over-the-top and have the potential to deal absolutely ludicrous damage, so save them for when you need them most.
The trailer then shows off some of Disgaea 7's impressive roster of more than 45 classes, with 4 brand new classes also on offer: Maiko, Bandit, Big Eye, and Zombie Maiden (the latter of which also made an appearance in the Disgaea introduction trailer).
Other features the trailer teases, but doesn't directly spotlight, include Item Reincarnation, Demonic Intelligence, online ranked play, and lots more.
Suffice it to say that Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless, to give it its full title, is looking like exactly the kind of maximalist strategy RPG in which you can lose thousands of hours of your life.
Disgaea 7 is set to launch for PC, PlayStation consoles, and Nintendo Switch on October 6th. Stay tuned for more news on the game between now and then, including any more crazy trailers NIS America releases (and we certainly hope there are more).
