Today Activision revealed a new feature for the upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and it's Aftermarket Parts.

The feature basically allows players to unlock parts that completely change a weapon instead of simply applying a limited modification to its stats.

For instance, if you apply the Carbine Kit to the Renetti pistol, it basically converts it into a submachine gun increasing bullet velocity, range, rate of fire, and full-auto fire at the expense of mobility, handling, and recoil control.

If you apply a bullpup kit to a heavy LMG, you'll make it lighter and shorter, greatly increasing your mobility while wielding it. Add an armbrace stock to a Uzi, and you'll be able to fire it akimbo, movie-style.

According to the developers, the feature is intended to greatly expand playstyles, while some will be "absolute oddballs" that players will be caught off-guard by and will use for sheer spectacle effect.

You can watch the video introducing Aftermarket parts below.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 releases for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on November 10.

If you want to see more about the game, you can check out the gameplay trailer (albeit it's plenty cinematic for a "gameplay" trailer), and another introducing the iconic villain Makarov.

The moment many have been waiting for is coming in less than 24 hours, with the reveal of the Multiplayer portion of the game.

Of course, you can expect coverage here on TechRaptor as soon as that happens.
