Free new content and bugfixes have arrived today with The Ascent Patch 5 alongside the debut of the game's first DLC -- the CyberSec Pack is here.
The Ascent has proven to be a smashing success for Neon Giant and Curve Games, racking up $5 million in sales in its launch weekend alone. It's no surprise to see it's a success; a lot of care went into building this cool cyberpunk world.
Mind, the launch of a game is never quite the end. The devs have previously released a free update that included a photo mode and some spooky new content just in time for Halloween; now, another new free update has arrived with The Ascent Patch 5 -- and the game's first premium DLC pack is here, too.
What's New in The Ascent Patch 5?
The big addition in The Ascent Patch 5 is the new Transmog feature. Transmog (or Transmogrification) will allow you to replace the appearance of your armor and items with the appearance of another similar item. Alternatively, you can hide certain pieces of armor altogether. This new feature can be accessed at the Stylist, a new shopkeeper that can be found within each safe zone.
The Transmog feature is being further supplemented with the addition of eight new fashion items account to today's announcement (via Reddit):
- Street Cap
- Habber Cap
- Street Headset
- Habber Shirt
- T-shirt: Blood Direct
- T-shirt: 2 Blob 3 Blob
- Slick Trousers
- Habber Jeans
New content aside, this patch also features a number of bug fixes on PC and consoles; you can read the full The Ascent Patch 5 notes for all the fine details.
