Developer Neon Giant and publisher Curve have announced a brand new The Ascent DLC pack. Cyber Heist expands the main game's story with more missions and sidequests, as well as introducing new weapons and much more. It's launching later this month.
What can we expect from the new The Ascent DLC Cyber Heist?
Cyberpunk twin-stick RPG shooter The Ascent proved pretty successful when it launched last year. That's probably why the game has continued to receive major updates adding things like new clothing and the ability to transmog your gear. Now, however, to coincide with The Ascent's first anniversary, developer Neon Giant has announced a brand new DLC pack for the game. Cyber Heist takes place after the conclusion of the main story and will, as you might imagine, see you taking on the titular cyber heist at the behest of your former employer.
Cyber Heist will add new main missions and side missions, as well as a brand new location in the form of the Malhorst-Gelb arcology. You can take on the DLC's campaign either solo or with your buddies, and they don't need to have completed the main story to play it; only the host does. You'll also be able to get your hands on some exciting new melee weaponry in Cyber Heist, so you can finally get up close and personal with your enemies and wail on them with dangerous-sounding implements like the Rock Crusher or the Guillotine. Sounds pretty fun, right? Cyber Heist launches across PC and consoles on August 18th and will set you back $9.99.
What is The Ascent?
If you haven't caught up with The Ascent yet, here's a quick primer. It's a twin-stick shooter-RPG hybrid set in the dark, dystopian cyberpunk future. You are a worker caught up in events far beyond your ken, and you must battle through the Ascent Group's arcology (essentially a massive metropolitan complex) in order to get to the bottom of what's going on and hopefully save your skin. Along the way, you'll take on a range of different enemies, upgrade your abilities, and test out a variety of powerful weapons.
You can grab The Ascent right now on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. It's well worth a look if you like looter shooter-style games and are big on cyberpunk aesthetics. The new Cyber Heist DLC lands on August 18th, so make sure to keep an eye out for that if you've already finished the main campaign and you're hungry for more.
