Today FromSoftware released a brand new TV commercial for its upcoming mecha action game Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.
While the commercial is brief, sticking to the Japanese 15-second format, it captures the nature of the game and the series quite well, showing absolutely massive mecha bosses and plenty of missiles flying all over the place and explosions.
You can see what I mean by watching the trailer below. If you want to see a whole lot more, you can also check out the recording of yesterday's showcase, which debuted a look at PvP gameplay among other things, both among teams and 1 vs. 1.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will releaseworldwide on August 25 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. This is a big comeback for the veteran mecha franchise, which has been dormant for several years while FromSoftware focused on the Souls franchise and similar action RPGs.
The game was revealed in December 2022 at The Game Awards, and a while ago we got more details from producer Yatsutaka Ogura about a variety of topics including difficulty, mech customization, action, and online elements. We also saw another trailer and enjoyed at more awesome gameplay, on top of the story trailer which was released just a few weeks ago.
Of course, you should definitely read our hands-on preview, in which our Erren Van Duine mentions that Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon "is shaping up to be another FromSoftware hit."
