A new Armored Core VI Special Briefing video has been released, and there's tons of new gameplay for dedicated mecha lovers to pore over.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is due out in just a few days, and as part of the run-up to its release, developer From Software held a lengthy presentation for the game earlier today.
Although the presentation is entirely in Japanese, it features looks at Armored Core VI's lore and world, as well as extensive gameplay that shows off the game's frenetic combat against a variety of impressive-looking mech enemies.
As the presentation starts, we get a brief trailer setting the scene for Armored Core VI's mechanized setting, showing both ground-based and airborne mechs.
We then get to see Armored Core VI in action, with various combat scenes featuring opponent mechs who both fire at the player from a distance and attempt to close gaps with melee weaponry.
Multiplayer gameplay is also shown, with two teams facing off against one another in Armored Core VI's PvP game mode. It looks just as hectic as you might expect.
From Software shows off some of Armored Core VI's customization, too, including custom images and a Photo Mode you can use to make your mech look as imposing as possible.
Don't worry if you're not much of a multiplayer fan, though, as the presentation also shows plenty of single-player gameplay, and it looks just as impressive as it has in previous demonstrations.
The single-player mission we get to see during the above presentation shows the player fighting off airborne enemies with a barrage of missiles, as well as skirmishing against ground-based enemies before finally moving to take down a massive airborne dreadnought.
The scale on display is pretty impressive; the action moves from smaller ground-level battles to airborne mecha dogfights fluidly and gracefully.
At the conclusion of the presentation's gameplay, we see a giant missile being fired at what appears to be some kind of cityscape in the sky, but you'll have to wait until Armored Core VI launches next week to discover what's going on.
Armored Core VI is set to launch for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on August 25th, which is next Friday.
TechRaptor's own Erren Van Duine got to preview the game, calling it "another From Software hit" in the making. Stay tuned for more on this one.
